We hear things like "if you love something then fight for it" and "if you love something set it free,if it comes back it was yours and if it doesn't then it was never meant to be". But we can't just go out and blindly follow these clichés that we hear, because it really is determined on a case-by-case, moment by moment, relationship by relationship, basis. I had a situation with me and an ex and I decided I still loved them and I wanted to fight for us but what I was fighting for was something that wasn't there anymore. And I've just recently been in another situation where I hurt somebody and I love them, but I know that it's probably time to let them go in an effort not to hurt their heart anymore. So just remember although we hear so much about love and about trust and about fighting and determination it is all relative. Your heart gives you the emotion but your brain has to tell you how to act on it.

Keep this in mind
So Sometimes when we start a competitive activity, such as sports or some type of club. We forget that we joined that specific thing to have fun. We start worrying about being the best or beating the best. But the most important thing to keep in mind is that you love this thing that you're doing. Remember you're passion for it not Worrying about number one. Every day is a good day when your goal is to enjoy yourself so remember to have fun doing what you Love! ~Katy

When life decides it wants to fight, FIGHT BACK
OMG guys, today I was on my way home when there was some huge incident on the road. I'm not sure what it was, but there were tons of emergency vehicles, so I went to look for my phone to find an alternate route. Low and behold, guess what was NOT it my pocket, go on guess ; My phone! At first I figured it was lost in one of my bags or another pocket but after having someone call it I was apparent that I had left it at school, possibly my coaches room. Needless to say I was distressed, but not for the reason you may think. I have every belief that I will walk in to school tomorrow and get my phone, so that didn't bother me. What had me upset was the feeling of irresponsibility; I felt careless, thoughtless, unobservant and a million other unflattering words. My eyes welled with tears and I started ,what a lot of us do, putting myself down. Then I decided this whole upset crying thing was NOT fun and that I needed to do something else. I began saying "I am a responsible and successful young woman" granted I had to say this through the tears, but once I heard myself saying that instead of "you're a failure, you can't get it right" I felt a million times better. So my point is this, we all mess up we will mess up over and over and over and over and, well you get the point but there is a great quote " We are more than the sum of our failures". This is true, when you are feeling down, upset, hurt all you are doing is going THROUGH an issue and when it's over you can learn from your mistakes. Instead of putting yourself down when you make a mistake, lift yourself up. If this is hard for you, make a list "I'm a good student, I'm a great athlete I'm a great friend I'm helpful around the house" Whatever positive things you can think of write them all down and repeat them to yourself until the positive voice drowns out the negative one. Comment or email me and tell me how this works for you! We are all strong and amazing individuals ~Katy

The power of belief.
Hello Lovelies! Good news! So as I've said before, I Love track with the white hot intensity of 1,000 suns. My passion and dedication have paid off. I am now seeded( which is the technical track term) or ranked at number one in my district! Meaning of all the girls who do what I do in my area,I am the fastest. More awesome news? The next fastest girl is on my team too! So here is where I reiterate that belief in yourself is SO important. The girls I run against have been practicing for YEARS whereas I only started last year. However, I told myself when I made a commitment to track that I was making a commitment to success. We should all believe that we have potential for success, without that belief there is no motivation! Think about it, if you already believe you can't do something are you just dying to go out and fail? Certainly not! Remember that even though there are others who do what you do or want what you want there is only ONE you and that makes you a hot commodity. I have reached one of my goals, so now it's time to go beyond, district champ is nice but, a regional title sounds even better ^_^ so onward and upward!! ~Katy

Do you have eczema? Does it drive you insane? Is it on your scalp, arms, or other painful and irritating places? Me too! I'm gonna tell you how I went from painful eczema to clear skin. I'm sorry I can't offer a cure, they haven't come up with one yet, but I hope you benefit from these suggestions. 1.See an allergist! General practitioners are nice, but they don't really offer the same sort of personalized treatment plans. 2. Don't know where an allergist is or don't want to pay the copay? Take a bath, not just any bath, at least a 15 minute bath, letting the affected areas soak will keep them pleasantly hydrated. 3. Wet to dry wrap: first wet your skin, next, apply a topical cream like hydrocortisone, mometasone or derma smoothe if you have it. After that cover the area with petroleum jelly and a patch of wet gauze. On top of the wet gauze apply dry gauze and a wrap of some kind. A sleeve would be best, but I've used a bandanna in the past. I will be completely honest it will itch, but having that smooth skin in the morning is entirely worth it. Use the wet to dry wrap three times a week and you're set. 4. Tea tree oil, smells funny, but it keeps the irritation level down. 5. Do NOT use scented lotions or creams and be wary of 'anti-itch' lotions, I had an allergic reaction to one. 6. KEEP IT MOISTURIZED and try to avoid shaving over the affected areas. Hope this helps, and the video offers some more great tips for combating eczema! (This woman is a little talkative, but the information is great).Tell me how it goes! ~Katy

Ever want to look cute in your bow tie?
Ever wanted to know how to tie a bow tie? Some days I wonder if it's odd for a girl to want a bow tie, but then I decide I'm just too cute not to have a one. So! I set out on my journey to learn the art of bow tie tying. First thought was to find a "teacher" literally one of my teachers said he would teach me, but the I moved. At my next school there was a particularly dapper young man who always had the CUTEST little outfits!( I hope he doesn't read this because he's seventeen and might get offended, hahah.) However, I moved again. Here at my new school I have only seen a few people in regular ties, let alone anyone in a bow tie. So dear reader I turned to the tried and true youtube! I hope you think this video is as great as I think it is.Stay Fly! ^_^ ~Katy
